Second Spring is a small independent shop for menopause and midlife wellbeing, selling into the UK.

The name comes from traditional Chinese medicine, where menopause is called the second spring — a second flowering rather than an ending. It seemed a better way of thinking about it than most of what this category offers.

What we do

We gather the products worth knowing about — Vitabiotics Menopace, Health & Her, Promensil, the Boots Menopause & Me cooling range, absorbent day and night wear, and CanesMeno for intimate comfort — and put them in one place, organised by what you're looking for.

For each one we explain what's in it and what the label is legally permitted to claim, which is usually a good deal less than the marketing suggests.

How we make money

You buy from the retailer, not from us. When you buy through one of our links, that retailer pays us a commission. It never costs you more than going direct, and no brand pays us for placement or position.

What we won't do

We won't tell you a supplement cures or relieves anything. UK law doesn't permit it, the evidence often doesn't support it, and you deserve better than a promise someone can't keep. Where a product genuinely is allowed to state what it does — a licensed medical device, for instance — we'll tell you that too, and why.
